On 24th March, 1915, the 1st South Wales Borderers battalion of 3 Brigade, 1st Division, moved from La Couture to the trenches at Port Arthur, near Neuve Chapelle where they remained until relieved on 31st March. On 27th March, Ernest Moss was killed when there was considerable shelling by the enemy’s artillery. |
